Thanksgiving Times Two

Last week was Thanksgiving here in the U.S.  Traditionally it's the last Thursday in November, and most companies here give both Thursday and Friday off as holidays.  So I had both days off and Lauren had Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off as a school holiday.

The double day holiday also lends itself to having more than one party, which a lot of families do when there's two sides to the family.  Marie wanted to host Thanksgiving, but found her self needing to go to Michael's family for Thanksgiving, so she offered to host Thanksgiving for our side of the family on Friday.  Since my Uncle Tao and Aunt Cathy couldn't make it to Marie's on Friday, they offered to host Thanksgiving at their house on Thursday.  We of course ended up attending both celebrations and after Marie's event on Friday, Lauren spent the evening with her cousins for a sleepover.

In addition to having two Thanksgivings, Lauren's girl scout troop also participated in Christmas in the Park this year, by sponsoring a Christmas tree.  That meant  the girls in the troop got to create ornaments and decorate a tree in the park.  The decorating slot was for Friday morning at 10AM.  Lauren had a lot of fun, and even hung out with her friends after the event.
