Shots times three

Lauren had her two month pediatrician checkup yesterday (even though she's a little more than 2 months old) . It was also the same day for her first shots. She was given 3 shots in total, for immunizations against 7 different diseases. She screamed while she was being given the shot, but after her shots were covered with "Dora the Explorer" bandaids, and she was picked up and cuddled she calmed right back down. She handled her first shots like a trooper!

She weighed 13 lbs, 3.2 ounces and had a length of about 24.5 inches, and head circumference of 16 inches. This placed her in the 95 percentile for all three categories. That means she's a big baby!

Her next appointment is at 4 months and she gets a next round of shots at that time.

Lauren is sleeping through most of the night now, so we're getting more sleep than we used to, but to me it still seems like it's not enough!

Lauren spends her days with Grandma, Grandpa and Michaela, on days that my dad doesn't have chemo and my mom doesn't have doctor's appointment. Michaela looks forward to seeing Lauren everyday. "Bayyyy-beeee" is her favorite word, and she loves to lean over and give Lauren a kiss. Michaela is certainly enchanted with her little cousin!

This week my dad does have chemo (after a two week rest), and my mom does have doctor's appointment, so I'm going to care for Lauren for two full days (Wednesday and Thursday).

It'll give me a break from working on the new house, and let me pack some things at the old house. This is particularly important since we're moving on October 4, Tuesday.

In other news, I've heard through the grapevine that my cousin Michael is indeed back from Iraq on a base in North Carolina, and should be making his way back home to New York soon. Welcome back Michael!
