So I'm a little late in writing this blog. It's been over a week since Thanksgiving. But I did want to let everyone know what happened on Thanksgiving. Since we're in the new bigger house, we invited everyone over to our house (even though we're still not really completely unpacked yet - and my parents haven't moved in yet - that and I wasn't able to find a Chinese restaurant that was open - I only called three).
So my aunt Lih Ping, her husband, Jun, their daughter-in-law, Teresa, along with grandchilde Charlotte were first to arrive at our house. Teresa and Charlotte traveled from New York and brought along lots of presents including a pretty outfit for Lauren. Thanks Ling and Teresa!
Next my uncle Tao and aunt Cathy arrived with my cousins Jeff and Eric. They brought along very nice house warming presents including a miniature Christmas tree. Marie came next with Michael and Michaela. My parents and Dong-Mer came last, as they were doing last minute cooking. Everyone brought food along so there was a lot of food for everyone!
Lars made his own turkey, which was thoroughly enjoyed by Eric and Jeff, who commented that they preferred Thanksgiving and other holidays at our house, since they know there will be Western food in addition to all the Chinese food being served!
Lauren still has a little bit of stranger anxiety so she didn't allow anyone to hold her without crying, but she was dressed up in a new holiday outfit, and was in a pretty good mood as long as Lars or I were holding her.
In all a very successful family Thanksgiving. We're looking forward to hosting Christmas at our house this month, and we've already started getting ready by hanging icicle Christmas lights in the front of our house. The Christmas tree will come this weekend.
We've also now scheduled a move date for my parents to move into the new house. The movers are coming on December 19 at 8 AM to move my parents. So everything is coming together!
