My cousin Hal, his wife Amy and their son Jonathan are in San Jose this week. They stopped by with my Aunt Lih Ping and Uncle Jun on Saturday to visit. My cousin's family live in Virginia so we don't get to see them very often, and in fact this was my first time to meet little Jonathan. He's absolutely adorable and seemed to get on pretty well with the other kids running around the house.
My older sister, Annette, Amelia and Daniel also came down from the Central Valley to meet up with Hal, as did my younger sister Marie, Michael, Michaela, and little Mariah.
My mom ordered take out Chinese, and we had a little dinner party in my house with lots of family around! Lauren was a little overwhelmed by it all, but towards the end of the evening she had calmed down enough to let not only Aunt Marie hold her, but her other aunt as well!
Hal and his family were so gracious as to bring gifts for all the kids, so there was plenty to play with while they were visiting. My dad came out for a little bit when he had enough energy to have a small bite to eat and to be part of the picture taking. We got to take a picture of my dad with Amelia, Daniel, Michaela, Jonathan and Lauren. Only little Mariah got left out since she was sound asleep.
The next day Marie invited Hal, Amy and Jonathan to go with them to see Nemo on Ice. Apparently the show was an enormous success with Michaela who continued to scream "Nemo, Nemo, Nemo" when she stopped by for a visit on Monday.
Hal and his family will be in the Bay Area until Saturday, so we'll probably get to see them one more time before they return to the East Coast.
