Yesterday was Graduation day for the seniors at Lynbrook High School. Among the graduates was my cousin Eric. My little cousin Eric, who I held as a baby when he was only 6 months old. He's graduated from high school and he's all grown up now. Congratulations Eric!
Lars, Lauren and I joined my Uncle Tao and Aunt Cathy, Eric's brother Jeff, and Aunt Lih Ping and Uncle Jun at the graduation ceremony. Little Lauren was good for the start of the ceremony but within a half an hour she got a little restless and Lars had to take her out of the stands into the back area to let her play and frolic and make noise.
Eric was decked out in dark blue graduation gear complete with light blue tassel around his neck for service in the Key club, a medal for sports participation, and a medal for a scholarship he received from badminton team play.
My mother, sister Marie, her husband Michael and their kids Michaela and Mariah joined the rest of us for a dinner celebration at the Fatima restaurant. Lars took Lauren home as it was way past her bedtime. She fell asleep on the way home and didn't wake up, even to be changed for the evening.
After dinner, Eric went back to Lynbrook for the Graduation party, and Aunt Cathy went to volunteer and help for the first night shift. Congratulations again Eric! Eric plans on attending UC Irvine this fall.
Next up on the graduation list is my cousin Debbie who graduates later this month from her high school in Selden, NY. Congratulations Debbie!
