A Marketing Success

If recognition of logos and branding by a 2 year old is any sign of marketing success, then McDonald's, Boston Market, Home Depot, Jamba Juice, and Target have hit a home run. Lauren's been able to tell these stores apart regardless of which particular store we go to. We can be in a completely new town, and she can identify the first McDonald's she sees. She's been able to do this since she was 2 and now that she's 2 and a half, she does it with much more regularity.

Lauren's newest best friend at home is a stuffed lamb, carrying a baby lamb that sings "Mary had a little lamb". She calls the toy "Mary", and its replaced George the Monkey as her favorite (and before that her Christmas Care Bear, and before that her toy stuffed piggy).

Interestingly enough, Lauren's also got a new best friend at day care. The last few times I've dropped her off and picked her up, she's been either with or immediately goes to visit a little boy named Steven who is in her class.

Michaela has also been spending nights at our home now that Grandma Mei has a little bit of her strength back and can watch her. She wants to stay over more to play with Lauren than to visit with her Grandma, but she does claim to want to see Grandma as her reason for visiting. When she's over, she and Lauren are inseparable. They have created their own little games, playing house, playing pretend mommy and daddy with stuffed animals, and playing in the Dora tent that we got Lauren this past Christmas. More often than not, our entire upstairs is lined in blankets, with stuffed animals "sleeping" through out the room.
