Unlike most companies in the Bay Area, my company actually had a Christmas Party on Saturday. It was quite a festive occasion, at the Computer Tech Museum. Strangely enough the theme this year was a safari in the jungle, and even with the admonition to dress comfortably almost everyone (with the notable exception of the CEO) came somewhat dressed up.
We had a good time with good food, and good conversation. We also got to witness a funky photographer taking polaroids and party favors and had our pictures taken as well. We missed out on winning any door prizes (and there seemed to be plenty), but we had a great time anyway.
Lauren on the other hand stayed at home with Aunt Marie, and since this was really the first time we have left her alone for an evening, she insisted on staying up until her parents came home, and sure enough as we walked in the door close to 11:00 PM she came running out to greet us.
Lauren told me she sat on Grandma's lap for a while and she even cried because we were gone, but she didn't want to go to sleep until we were back.
The next day, Sunday we spent pulling out the rest of the Christmas decorations. The tree is up and decorated now, the nutcrackers are out on display and the garland is hung over the fireplace. We're getting close to being ready for Christmas next week.
