Just a small group of us celebrated Michaela's 2nd birthday on Sunday. I think Marie thought it would be easier than trying to do it next weekend, since next weekend is Mother's day. Michaela actually turns on two on the 11th of May.
Michaela had both her grandmothers in attendance at her birthday party along with her sister Mariah, her cousin Lauren, her uncles Tim and Lars and her parents Marie and Michael.
She got to blow out two candles on a yummy chocolate cake. She also got a bunch of Dora presents.
Unfortunately, her uncle Tim had a touch of the flu yesterday and spent most of her party in bed. She also got to take both her grandmothers to Hakone Japanese Gardens in Los Gatos to enjoy the afternoon.
Little Lauren seemed fascinated by the concept of a birthday party. She sat quietly on Grandma's lap, during the entire process of lighting the cake, singing, cutting and eating the cake. That's no small feat for her, as she doesn't sit still for anyone lately.
