Dad's Gravesite

As I've mentioned in previous posts, we've been visiting my dad's grave weekly, along with going to Buddhist temple since he passed away.

I wanted to update everyone on his gravesite and to let you know how to find it if you want to visit.

The groundskeepers have removed all the flowers and wreaths from the original service. Currently the grave is unmarked and covered with soil, so it stands out from the rest of the plots which are covered in sod. The next time the cemetery does a maintenance on the grounds, his plot will also be covered in sod. They also went ahead and installed a flower vase which I had ordered for the plot. The vase is storable, so if you'd like to leave flowers you may have to twist the handle to remove it from the storage area, and turn it upside down to use it. There's water spigots located streetside so you can add water to the vase as well.

The headstone has been ordered, and it will be ready in about 3-4 months at which time, it will be installed.

My dad's grave is located at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 300 Curtner Avenue in San Jose. He's buried in Myrtle Lawn, Lot 1442, Grave #2. If you go to the information desk at the funeral home, they can give you a map to the location, if you haven't been there before.

It looks like my Aunt Lih-Ping has been going to the gravesite regularly as well, so thanks aunty for helping look after my father.

If you have any other questions about the cemetery or my dad's gravesite, please let me know.
