Lars and I both had 3 day weekends this past weekend due to the Martin L. King Jr holiday on Monday. So we decided to make it a long weekend and booked a couple of rooms in Fresno, CA, and invited my mom along the trip.
My mom in turn invited Marie, Bau-be and the girls since she did not want to spend her nights by herself in a hotel room.
So we took two cars and in caravan fashion drove out to Fresno, where Lars used to live and still has friends.
My mom was hoping to visit an Indian Casino while out on the trip, but she fell ill with a stomach virus on Saturday. Mariah also got the stomach virus, and Marie had a headache and felt ill almost the entire weekend. So the weekend ended up being a recovery weekend for them and they spend almost the entire time in the hotel room!
Lars, Lauren and I on the other hand, did get out to visit Lars' friends and got to drive around Fresno seeing some of the older neighborhoods and got some light shopping done as well.
Lars' friends keep chickens and Lauren was fascinated with them and helped herd them from the yard to their fenced in living area.
My mom seems to have gotten over the stomach flu and is doing well now, but Mariah seems to still be ill, keeping everyone in Marie's house up for much of the night.
