Amy and Amber In Town

Amy and Amber also arrived late last week from the East Coast. Lauren bonded immediately with her cousin Amber and started having fun with her immediately. As usual Amy brought way too many gifts for the girls (Thanks Amy!). Amy and Amber will stay at the hotel in Fremont with my Uncle William's family until they leave and then they will stay with my mom.

I'm gone this week on a business trip to Chicago and Toronto, and will be back home on Thursday. We've had a really hot weekend in San Jose, so Lauren got a lot of use out of our backyard kid's pool. It's one of those vinyl pools you can setup in under an hour, relatively small, but it does the job. It's actually our second one. Our first one had a blow up ring that Diego took a bite out of when were still in the other house, so we had to get a new one, and this one has a steel frame, much less likely to be damaged easily.

With the warm weather changing for the warmer we've also been able to do more projects around the house including the completion of most of the exterior work. The outside of the house is painted, the columns are finished. There's only two more minor things we'd like to do. One is to put lights on both sides of the garage door, and the other is to put decorative shutters on the outside of the front windows.

As June draws to a close, we finally planned our trip to Disneyland and we'll take Lauren on June 29th, and be in the park on June 30th the last day of June, fulfilling our promise to her that we'd go when it was June. (She keeps asking, "is it June yet?"). We're planning on driving down on June 29th. My mom will probably stay with Marie while we're gone.
