In Arizona

It's Tuesday, so that means we have been in Arizona for 5 full days now. We left on our road trip last Wednesday night and arrived sometime on Thursday at the house. It was just as we left it in April. The only difference is that the homes behind our house are now completed, and there are neighbors living in those houses. Our PODS unit arrived Friday, the day after we did, so were busy unpacking for most of the weekend. What time wasn't spent unpacking was spent at stores getting the stuff we still needed to make the new house a home.

The weather has actually been cooler than normal for the Tucson area, but that hasn't stopped Lauren from complaining about the heat. She's finally started to get used to it, but when we first arrived, she complained it was too hot (when she was outdoors) and too cold (when she was indoors in the air conditioning). I don't think the temperature extremes have helped our colds, as they too have stuck around for an extra week.

We got cable TV, internet, and a phone today, when the cable guy showed up, so we're no longer relying on cell phones for internet and connectivity to the outside world.

Lauren's been having fun getting her room setup, and she's pretty happy with the way it is. It's just not yet pink enough for her. Her walls are still white!

We don't have a dining room chair set yet, so we're making do with metal folding chairs and ottomans for chairs. We also haven't yet taken Lauren to the pools yet, as she's still claiming she doesn't want to go, and we've been too busy. But that will have to happen soon, as she'll have to face her fears and enter the water again. (She's still traumatized from the last time she was in a pool and she walked off the step in the pool and found herself completely submerged). I'll be traveling back to the bay area during the July 4 weekend, and spend sometime back in the Bay Area before heading back to the Tucson area to spend another two weeks with Lauren and Lars.
