It seems almost impossible, but our little Amelia is turning into a young lady. As a step in that direction this past Saturday was her Bat Mitzvah. We traveled to Davis to help celebrate Amelia's coming of age, and Lauren was excited to go to see more of her family, which she never seems to get enough of.
The ceremony was beautiful, with Amelia showing both her maturity, with just a hint of her inner child, when she laughed at Daniel's attempts at mischief. Afterwards during the reception, Lauren went and joined the others in the dancing, without either Lauris or myself, a first for her, showing just how independent she's getting.
We then went and spent some time at my sister's home before heading out to a large family and friends dinner they planned for all the out of town guests at Stonegate Country Club. The kids had a blast playing at the sandy beach area as well as on the lawn where a soccer field was setup. By the time we left, Lauren was sound asleep in the car.
