This past weekend, Michaela's school had their Halloween Carnival, and Marie invited Lauren to attend. In case you don't know what a Halloween Carnival is, the idea is that the school (really the parents) put together a carnival for the kids to help raise money for the school. In this case, Michaela's school sold food (hot dogs, chips, etc), and tickets for games (that parents manned), and raffle tickets for prizes (that parents donated). The parents purchased tickets for the games for their kids to play, and if the kids happened to win the game (like throwing a bean bag at a stack of bottles and knocking them down), the kids won some coupon tickets. At the end of the carnival the kids took all their coupon tickets and they could trade them in for various prizes.
Lauren, Michaela and Mariah weren't very adventurous in their game selection, and only played 3 games. The one they played the most was the one Marie had to man, which was a bean bag toss tic-tac-toe. Afterwards they did a roulette, and then an air-gun game that let them shoot corks at ghosts.
The day was rainy so, they didn't spend much time outdoors, but the girls all claimed they had a lot of fun at the carnival.
Lauren's school carnival is this Friday evening from 6 to 8PM, so we get to enjoy it all again!
