I had a last minute request to staff a booth at a conference in Las Vegas last week. Lauris found out about it and wanted to go along. Since we could get a cheap ticket for him it made sense, and he wanted a vacation after taking care of Lauren all summer, so we arranged for Lauren to stay with Marie and the girls while we were in Vegas for 2 nights.
It was Lauren's first overnight without either parent, so we were a bit anxious and glad the trip was only 2 nights. But she did great with her cousins, and had a lot of fun with them. Lauris got to see the Titanic exhibit at Luxor along with the Bodies in Motion show. He also tried to go see the Grand Canyon on a helicopter tour, but it got cancelled due to the smoke from a forest fire, restricting flights into the Grand Canyon.
Thanks to Marie and Michael for taking care of Lauren while we were gone!
