Happy Kids Day

I attended the new parent orientation on Saturday with Lauren for her Chinese school which starts this Friday. She's going to Silicon Valley Chinese School which runs a two hour class on Friday nights. The class she's entering is a new one for them, since they traditionally focus on kids who speak Chinese at home, and instead this new class is called Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) for non-native speakers. While we were at the parent orientation, we happened to pick up a flyer for an event happening the next day, Sunday in Cupertino. It was a festival called "Happy Kids Day" and sponsored by a Taiwanese volunteer group.

I called Marie and asked her if she wanted to attend this event with Lauren and me, and so she drove down on Sunday with girls and we went to the festival. It was filled with jump house type slides and houses, as well as lots of booths where kids could do arts and crafts. We spent a while there while the girls played, made various crafts, and had lunch as well. They seemed to have a lot of fun. We also got offered a lot of various classes and schools, and I went ahead signed Lauren up for a free music lesson.
