The cancer drug for some
I just heard on the Today show this morning that the drug Iressa that my dad was taking (the one that caused the perforated duodenum), only works in 10-15% of the patients that its given to. For those 10-15% the results are remarkable, almost incredible. And now there's a genetic test available to determine if the patient will be one of the 10-15% for whom this drug will work.
Something to ask the oncologist the next time we see him.
