Today is father's day in the U.S. To celebrate, my older sister, Annette and the kids came down to have brunch with my mom and Dad. He's about the same right now, still tiring easily, but okay enough to go out for a meal. Frequent rests help, and he seems to enjoy our new sunroom, along with the massage chair in the sunroom.
Yesterday, we had a party in our home to celebrate the end of the school year, and our new sunroom for friends and co-workers, our first party in the house that wasn't a family party. Unfortunately it will also probably be the last (or possibly on of two) such parties in the house. The good news is we did get into contract on the new house on the next block. We're going to close escrow on July 6, but will not actually take possession until August 15th as the sellers cannot vacate until then.
We'll definitely miss our home, as we've put a lot of time and effort into it, and there are many fond memories of family gatherings here.
As for the baby, she's still on her way, everyone is doing well. She's still got a due date of July 8, but the ob-gyn says it looks like she may come early. It means she'll enjoy the current home with us for at least a month and a half before we move to the new house.
We're quite prepared for her arrival. The nursery has been set up and we've got a crib, changing table among other things thanks to the generosity of our coworkers. That added to the stuff my mom's knitted and the stuff Marie and Michael have given us, adds up to quite a bit of stuff for one very luckly little baby girl.
