Another week closer

The due date for the baby draws closer, with only one week to go we're on total pins and needles. She'll be joining us any day now.

Meanwhile, the house purchase has progressed. I've signed off on the paperwork, and the only thing remaining to do this week is to go to the bank have the remaining down payment paid into escrow. That's the tough part. Writing that huge check! We'll close next Wednesday, July 6, but we won't get possession of the house until August 15, as the sellers have asked for a rent back.

Meanwhile our home is getting ready to go on the market. We've had property inspection, termite inspection and roof inspection. The first open house is scheduled for July 9. So we have to packed and ready to go by then with the house in show room condition.

Mom, Dad and Michaela all continue to do as well as can be expected. My dad's CEA numbers were down this week, but only marginally, so he's still going to talk to the oncologist about switching chemo medications for the next chemo cycle.

They are getting excited about moving into the new house, but it will be tough as they will have less space. But I think it'll be better for them to have help around the house. I think (and I'm sure Lars agrees), it's going to be a madhouse for a while in our new home, between my parents, little Michaela and a new born baby, not to mention settling into a new house.
