When Lauren was smaller she really disliked the swings. Over time she grew to like the baby swings, the ones where there's a molded cup shape and holes for legs so there's no way to fall out. When we started on those swings, she'd always used to yell "Not too high", "Daddy, that's too high, stop pushing". Eventually of course those yells changed to "Higher daddy, higher!"
All during that time, she disliked those rubber swings, the ones that are a single piece of flat rubber that forms a "U" once you sit on them. But as she grew comfortable in the baby swings, she wanted me to sit next to her in the big kids rubber swings.
Time of course does not stand still and this week, Lauren has mastered the big kids swings. She pulled me to the swings this morning and said "Daddy watch me swing, watch how high I can go". And of course she proceeded to do just that.
