We spent this last Saturday doing a little work at the old house (since the renters have moved in), but planned on spending Saturday evening with my sister Marie's family. After we finished up at the old house, Lauren and I packed up and drove up the East Bay. Lauren had a lot of fun playing with Michaela and Mariah. They started by playing dress up with fairy costumes and putting on shows for the adults.
When then drove out to Dublin to have dinner at Macaroni Grill and took in a showing of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" in 3-D at the IMAX theater. Unfortunately the 3-D and the IMAX theater were both lost on Lauren. She wasn't very impressed by the big screen, and she kept taking her 3-D glasses off. But she did enjoy seeing food rain on the big screen. Lauren was exhausted by the time the evening was over and promptly fell asleep on the drive back home.
On Sunday, we went to the Art and Wine Festival in Santa Clara. It was hot, but Lauren still enjoyed it and was surprised to see some of her classmates from pre-school also enjoying the festival. Lauren's favorite part was a ride that featured swing seats rotating in a carousel. She also got a fireman's hat and got to ride up front in a real fire truck.
