Doctor's Visit

Lauren had her 18 month checkup (even though she's almost 20 months old) on Tuesday. She's doing great, and passed her checkup with flying colors. The only real problem is she has a very negative association with the doctor's office.

Going to the waiting room was no problem. She likes playing with the toys, reading the books and looking at the other kids. But as soon as the nurse called her name to go in the office, she started screaming and crying. We could barely get her to stand on the scale as she screamed and squirmed the entire time. But we did figure out she's 24.6 lbs and 33 inches tall. That puts her in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. I didn't catch what her head circumference was, but it's in the 90th percentile. So she's got a big head and weighs about what all kids her age do.

She only had one shot (the next in her hepatitis-A vaccine series) at her visit and that too was greeted with screaming and crying. She didn't settle down until after I got her out of the office and down to the pharmacy where we picked up her multi-vitamin w/flouride supplement.
