Chemo, another cycle, another day, another test

My dad started his latest round of chemo today. This is a new regimen for him since his CEA numbers have been moving up. Unfortunately in yesterday's blood draw, his numbers doubled from the previous week. Since his numbers have been increasing, they moved him from the previous regimen including Iressa, to one using Avastin today.

I spoke with him after the chemo, and he said he tolerated today's chemo better than some of the past chemo sessions. Michaela survived today's session as well, as my parents took her with them up to the doctor's office. Marie also took off early from work, to care for Michaela while my dad did the chemo session.

My dad has 5 more sessions (1 every week for the next five weeks) of this regimen. He'll have a blood draw every week to see if this helping his CEA numbers. The next blood draw will be this Tuesday coming up. So we'll know more next Wednesday when the results are in.
