Back in the early 1970s while we still lived on Long Island, my parents decided they would prepare for their eventual death, to spare us kids the most amount of hassle. To that end they purchased plots at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY. Money being tight at the time, they bought overlay plots, rather than side-by-side plots. Back then they bought the plots on credit. The cost was about $850, and they made monthly payments of $10 to pay off the loan.
Fast forward 30 years, on this long strange journey, and of course we're no longer in New York, and have no use for these cemetary plots. My dad is finally getting around to selling these plots, after locating the website of the Pinelawn Memorial Park and getting their contact information. Irony.
