Because of Lars' impromptu visit to Missoula, Montana to visit his brother, we stayed at Marie, Michael, and Michaela's house last night. The only flight out available using mileage departed out of Oakland at 6 am. Michaela was kind enough to host us for the evening so we didn't have to drive far when we woke up at 4:15 am to get ready for the airport run.
Michaela has really begun to grow into her features. Most noticeably her head is larger, and she's already got remarkable muscle strengh to hold up her own head. She's as curious as ever, look around with her wide eyes at everything. She hasn't wanted to sleep during the day for the last 3 days. Every time someone tried to put her down, she'd come back wide awake again. But if you held her she'd fall asleep. As if the comfort of being in someone's arms, made for an easy rest.
Marie and Michael treated us to a wonderful dinner of a shrimp open-faced sandwich, along with barbeque salmon and scallops, while Michaela entertained us during the preparations. Michaela got her bath before we all went to bed for the evening.
After dropping Lars off at the airport this morning, I went back to Marie and Michael's to crash for a few hours, and then Marie, Michaela and I went off to run some errands. Michaela slept soundly during the day (a side effect most likely of not having slept during the day for so many days). I'll post new pictures later tonight.
